Mack participated in the NAIC Asia Pacific International Forum and Fall National Meeting in Honolulu, November 29-December 3, 2017

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) hosted the Fourth Annual Asia-Pacific International Forum on November 29-December 1, 2017.

The forum offered regulators and industry members an opportunity to discuss a number of issues facing the U.S. and the Asia-Pacific region, and hosted regulators from Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Panama, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan, as well as industry representatives from the region’s leading insurers. Topics open to industry participants included Supervision/The Future of Insurance in the Digital Age, The Growth of Emerging Markets, and Catastrophe Insurance and the Protection Gap.

Mack made remarks on fintech and technologies, growth in emerging market, as well as catastrophe risk with focus on APFF activities on the technology, promoting roles of insurers to support sustainable growth, as well as disaster risk financing. He also shared Japanese experience and lesson learned from the recent earthquake in 2011.


The forum was held ahead of the NAIC’s Fall 2017 National Meeting that took place at Hawaii Convention Center on December 2-4.

Mack reported during the International Insurance Issues Committee (G) that took place on December 2 on the activities of the APFF with focus on their collaboration with US companies.
