Mack participated in the 2nd ASEAN Insurance Summit in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, November 23, 2016

The ASEAN Insurance Council (AIC), with the support of the ASEAN Secretariat, organized the 2nd ASEAN Insurance Summit, which was held at the Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel, Yogyakarta, Indonesia on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. The theme for this year is “The Rise of ASEAN – How can we strategically position the indurance industry to paly a bigger role in AEC?”. The Summit was organized as a symposium, at which senior insurance industry leaders and practioners from ASEAN will have the opportunity to voice and share their perspectives during the concurrent panel sessions, and contribute to the AEC policy making process.

Mack delivered a plenary speech on the APFF work and recommendations on retirement and long-term investment.

Mack’s presentation on the APFF in Yogyakarta

On behalf of APFF, Mr Brian Murray, Group Chief Economist, AIA and leader on capital markets and long-term investments sub-group of the APFF Retirement and Long-Term Investment Working Group, served as the speaker for Panel 3: “How Can Long-Term Investment, Retirement and Pension Funds Contribute to Infrastructure Financing”, moderated by Mr Donald Kanak, Chairman Eastspring Investment & Chairman EU-ASEAN Business Council.

Also, Mr Masaaki Nagamura, General Manager CSR, Tokio Marine and Sherpa of APFF Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance Working Group, participated as a panelist in Panel 4: “Practices, Challenges, and Effective Approaches in Disaster Risk Financing and Microinsurance”.

Following the ASEAN Insurance Summit. Mack joined the music performance during the Gala Dinner, singing and dancing “La Bamba”.

This event was held back-to-back to the 19th ASEAN Insurance Regulators’ Meeting and 42nd ASEAN Insurance Council at the same location.
Ms Evelina F. Pietruschka, Secretary-General, ASEAN Insurance Council stressed the importance of the collaboration between APFF and ASEAN Insurance sector.
