[From Geneva Association’s release, January 19, 2015] U.S. and Japan Life Insurers Insolvencies Case Studies—Lessons learned from resolutions
(Geneva, Switzerland) Leading international insurance economics think tank, The Geneva Association, today announced the publication of a research report on “U.S. and Japan Life Insurers Insolvencies Case Studies—Lessons learned from resolutions”.

The report presents details from investigations by The Geneva Association into insolvency cases from around the world and the most important lessons learned for improving resolution regimes. In this first report, the case studies include three U.S. and eight Japanese life insurance insolvencies.

The main objective in examining these cases is to identify the best practices for ensuring smooth, non-disruptive resolutions, with a focus on policyholder protection and the overall stability of financial markets and economies.
