The FIDES (Federación Interamericana de Empresas de Seguros) convened the XXXV FIDES Conference in Santiago, Chile, Santiago on October 25-28, 2016.

Mack made a presentation on the insurers’ long-term investments to support sustainable growth to achieve triple wins of consumers, financial sector and government.

He identified some pension/protection, infrastructure/investment, and regulatory/accounting issues, including bank-oriented requirements, short-term oriented economic regimes, and one-size-fits-all models.

He also shared some examples in Japan expanding long-term ESG investments under low interest environment.
